Welcome to Gateshead Ju-Jitsu Club (NEJJKA).

Gateshead Ju-Jitsu Club is part of The North East Ju-Jitsu and Kobudo Association (NEJJKA) which was formed in 1980.  Gateshead Ju-Jitsu Club was established in 1997.

 

The Senior Coach has been training with The North East Ju-Jitsu and Kobudo Association since 1985 and teaching since 1990.

 

Ju-Jitsu translates as soft, flexible, yielding art or science of.  Ju-Jitsu was developed as a battlefield martial art by the Samurai warrior.  Rather than fighting strength against strength, Ju-Jitsu teaches to yield and unbalance and gain victory in an intelligent manner rather than raw aggression.

 

Ju-Jitsu incorporates a wide range of Ju-Jitsu practice including hand strikes, kicking, throwing, locks and restraints, ground holds and ground defence, chokes and strangles and defence against grabs and holds.

Childrens Classes.

 

Children will gain many positive benefits from the practice of Ju-Jitsu as they learn.  Their balance, co-ordination, speed and reactions will improve.  They learn and achieve from an excellent and specially devised syllabus for children which will take them from beginner to Black Belt.

Adult Classes.

 

Adults will also gain many positive benefits from the practice of Ju-Jitsu.  This structured martial art is devised for the complete beginner in mind.  You will learn Ju-Jitsu in a relaxed and positive environment. You do not have to be fit to join as anyone (male or female) can participate in this art.
